Huston-Tillotson University’s Community Engaged Research Program

Huston-Tillotson University (Austin, TX) is a CIC member institution, an HBCU, and a Regional Collaboration Partner in the Legacies of American Slavery initiative. HT’s focus has been the legacy theme of race, health, and medicine. The university serves the people of central Texas through a Community Engaged Research Program designed to train students in research and assist small, local nonprofit organizations. In the past four years, students have helped 24 nonprofit organizations across the region. Featured in this video are two HT students and Dr. Amanda Masino, an associate professor of biology and the Chair of Natural Science.
